Rooibos Reserve

Okay. So. I’m new to the scent world. I’ve dabbled here and there and rarely like to branch out of the snickerdoodle scent profile. I like vanilla and cinnamon together too much. I decided to branch out. I’m still trying, but Rooibos Reserve is going to be added to my scents staples. It’s a very gentle scent. Not that it’s mild or takes a while to find the aroma, it’s just a gentle profile. Right out the gate, you get that citrus and creamy tea smell—honestly, it’s more green tea than rooibos, but it’s gorgeous so it doesn’t really matter, imo—and then when it settles it’s still got that going on, but the creamy vanilla starts to take the helm. It’s fresh and earthy, and has a very clean texture to its scent (hope that makes sense). I love love love it. I’m getting a second bottle right now!! Oh—it lasts longer on fabric than it does skin. I sprayed a few puffs on the carpet in my office at work as I was leaving on Wednesday evening, and then 9am, Thursday morning, it still smelled like my perfume. But on the skin, by the end of the day, you are just left with a mild, but dynamic, creamy vanilla, that you can only smell if you put your wrist right up to your nose, so spray your skin and clothes.

Although, the scent doesn't linger for too long, I would say it stays on my skin for a good 2-3 hours, it is well worth the purchase and I enjoy reapplying. It definitely smells of freshly brewed rooibos tea and I get notes of ginger, and the cinnamon is not overwhelming. I enjoy pairing/layering this with my Origin's ginger body butter. To me, they are the perfect pairing. If you have B&BW's Black Tea collection, pair this and Lavender Stem with it 😉.

This utterly unique fragrance is a perfect spring-summer-fall scent. The first notes are quite green and lightly sweet, an herbaceous floral. I know it's meant to be rooibos, but honestly I get more of a "green tea" profile" with the first misting, not unlike Arden's 'Green Tea' of the 90's. Citrus notes are very quiet, but necessary to bind the complex fragrance. The mid notes quiet down to a subtly spiced, warm & summery musk. It's unlike any other scent I own; it's clean, it's not heavy, it's more friendly than sexy, and it's complex and curious enough that I can't stop sniffing myself. My final note of praise: my partner (who does not like perfume) said, "mmm, that's a good new smell!" after walking into the bedroom after I'd misted myself.
