    Parallel vs Melting Embers

    I love Both Parallel & Melting Embers! HOWEVER, I did not expect they would smell at all alike!! I was expecting a lighter & softer more citrusy scent from Parallel... But - what what I'm getting from both is a smoky woody scent . Melting Embers has a tiny bit of a sweeter undertone and, surprisingly Parallel is a bit heavier . To my nose when smelling the nozzle alone they are also nearly identical. On me they are basically the same - can anyone explain that??

    Longevity is better than the inspired by fragrance

    Smells exactly like the inspired by fragrance. Longevity is even better and sillage is very close to and even better. I am loving this perfume.

    Only spray a couple times

    So this seems stronger than the actual Another 13, however, I sprayed myself several times on my arms and a weird Eucalyptus/camphor note came out and I am not into that. There shouldn’t be a note like this in the scent so I don’t know how it appeared but I’m waiting for it to evaporate now. The actual Another 13 is super light-all I get from it is a little pear, cetalox and ambrette. I must be anosmic to iso e super since that and ambergris are the dominant notes. This brand is a real hit or miss for me.

    Hits: Orphic (spot on with dry down), Madame Rose ( BEST Delina dupe), Jasmine Blossom (super strong Jasmine), sorcery (great and interesting), Sweet Addict (once the neroli chills, better than Kilians), Melting Embers (identical), Heaven Speak (very close), Almost Nude (identical to GGGB), Vanilla Vacay.

    Speakeasy and Athena are ok. Sand & Sea is growing ok to me.

    Miss: Paralell (the eucalyptus), Sand Crystal (the worst, no light cedar and sea salt), Praise the Perfume (bad burnt sugar), Gold Gem (not sure but I find it stinky and dirty smelling), Pearl Earring (way too much clove/spice it’s medicinal), Red Katara (literally smells like a tannery).

    I will say that I’ve never smelled Bal D’Afrique or Portrait of a Lady so I can’t compare them but I doubt they smell like these, but I can’t tell you. I have a spicy rose with Rose Cherie by Guerlain and it’s milder and more wearable than Pearl Earring. It’s not a peppery rose, it’s an incense, clove, cardamom, camphor…

    I’m a Fan

    The very first spray I was kind of like eh it’s ok. However after trying it out a few more times I was like ok I can work with this. Now, I am in love. I love how this dries down. It smelled very clean and high end. I’m starting a new job soon and I can’t wait to wear this in the office.
