Comparing Doctor Queen to Colaroma & Dr. Pepper
I compared the new Doctor Queen soda-pop fragrance to Oakcha's OG cola fragrance, Colaroma, and Dr Pepper. Doctor Queen and Colaroma are similar, but Doctor Queen is crisper and spicier. A previous reviewer called Doctor Queen a flanker to Colaroma, which I agree with. On the opening, Colaroma is a tad sweeter with more citrus. However, three hours into the wear, they both smell almost identical.
Does Doctor Queen smell exactly like Dr Pepper? No, and I was hoping it would. However, it 100% smells like soda-pop, which is impressive! Dr Pepper is fruit-forward, while Doctor Queen is spice-forward. When I open Dr Pepper, I get cherry, plum, and citrus backed by light spices. Doctor Queen opens with cinnamon, clove, and ginger. It’s also quite linear on my skin—spicy from start to finish.
I’d consider this fragrance unisex but leaning slightly masculine because of its bold spiciness. I’m excited to try it in fall/winter weather because it gives me holiday vibes. It reminds me of a spicy holiday beverage or one of those clove-studded orange pomanders. If you like spicy, playful soda-pop scents, Doctor Queen is worth checking out. If you already have Colaroma, you probably don’t need both. Even though it isn't an exact match to Dr. Pepper, it's still an exceptional novelty soda-pop scent and it makes me happy.
